Moriah Plaza co-founders Tamir and Moosh fell in love with the
hypnotic sounds of Brazilian Music as children in Tel Aviv in the
nineties.
They developed a fascination with elevator muzak, film soundtracks
and even the hotel pianist performing day-by-day in the lobby of
the Sheraton Moriah where Tamir's mother worked, overlooking the
waves.
Whilst the inspiration for the band can be traced back to Tel Aviv
and the Dead Sea, the band was conceived by Tamir and Moosh in
Berlin, in close collaboration with two Brazilians Berliners, poet
Cecília Erisman, and singer songwriter Flavia Annechini.
Moriah Plaza's debut album, released in July 2023, received
worldwide praise from critics and radio stations. The live band,
featuring Gretchen Schadebrodt on guitar and vocals and Alice Moss
on drums, performed on RFI Radio France and was supported by
various global stations like BBC 6, NTS, and Dublab.
